100 tunes added!
Submitted on Tue, 2005-07-26 12:27. Personal | Piping | WebWeee! My goal of 100 tunes in the sheet music archive has been achieved! And these are good tunes too, mind you. Now, I will take a break from this and leave the adding to the other band members (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean?)
Bronze age rock carvings
Submitted on Sat, 2005-07-23 11:01. Travel I've wanted to see the bronze age rock carvings in the Tanum area of nothern Bohuslän for a long time. And since I'm on vacation and don't have much else to do right now, I went there a few days ago. It was really amazing and I can recommend it to anyone interested.
I have put a bunch of pictures in my image gallery for those of you who can't go there and see for yourself.
More bagpipe music
Submitted on Sat, 2005-07-16 21:33. Personal | Piping | WebOK, the sheet music archive is coming along nicely. Today I took a big proofreading pass of all the tunes. Now the settings should be (mostly) correct. I have also included information on how to get started writing bagpipe music with Lilypond on the sheet music page.
I haven't grown tired of this yet, so expect more tunes to be added. I intend to have 100 tunes added within 2 weeks.
Bagpipe sheet music
Submitted on Sat, 2005-07-09 15:31. Personal | Piping | WebSvenax and Mats, P/M of the Murray Pipes & Drums of Gothenburg, have for many years had a project going to get all of our excellent music settings into the computer and have them available as downloadable files. We used to do this using BagpipeTeX, a set of macros and definitions on top of MusicTeX.
Recently, however, I have for many reasons started to convert the music to Lilypond instead. It produces better ouput, is better maintained, and is much easer to use. As a consequence, I have made the tunes available from my Sheet Music archive. Feel free to take a look.
As I am on vacation for a few weeks and finally have some time to devot to this, I intend to update the tunes fairly often. Expect at least a few new tunes to appear every day in the near future.
Spam, spam, lovely spam
Submitted on Sat, 2005-07-02 10:25. HumourI got an unusually irritating chain-letter spam sent to me yesterday. Normally these just go straight in the trash, but this time it was sent from someone I know (which means it wasn't caught by my spam filter), and the text was sillier than most, so I decided to post it here.
It starts out with a rambling, mushy text that seems to say "carpe diem", "smell the flowers" and stuff like that. Then comes a bunch of instructions for how to live - 45 of them no less. Like "eat plenty of unpeeled rice", "learn a poem by heart", "Believe in God, but make sure you lock your car" (wtf?), and last but not least "send this tripe to all of your friends". And it finishes off with the usual "spamming this to 15 persons or more will make everything you wish for come true".
Well, well, read on if you dare! (the text is in Swedish)
